Based in Cincinnati , Ohio , the Cincinnati Bengals are a professional American football team and are members of the North Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League. Their first season, 1968, was as an American Football League franchise, but they soon joined the NFL in 1970 with the merger of the AFL and NFL.

Robinson rushed for 1,023 yards and he was named the AFL Rookie of the Year. Their luck seemed to changed with the hiring of a new head coach, Marvin Lewis, in 2003. Drafted in 2003, star quarterback Carson Palmer brought the team to their first playoffs in over 12 years in 2004. In tribute to his father, Mike Brown, the present owner, refused any corporate offers to have the stadium renamed in honor of his father. Recently, the Bengals have been struggling.
